Join the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) on July 13, 2023, from 09:00 – 17:00 for the event titled Advancing Success Towards SDG2 Through Science and Technology to be held in Washington, DC. This event, in connection to the Sustained Dialogue on Peaceful Uses (SDPU), focuses on food security under the auspices of the Roundtable on Global Science Diplomacy. The meeting will include discussion of technologies, with a particular focus on the peaceful applications of nuclear science through multilateral organizations like the International Atomic Energy Agency, that are brought to bear on development priorities pertaining to food security.
These discussions will focus on United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2, more specifically food security in a time of crisis, with a geographical focus on Europe and the war in Ukraine; the effects of climate change on food security in Latin America; developing Africa to be the breadbasket for the world; and the overlap and interaction between SDG2 and other SDGs.
